Self Tape Rules Violation Report Form

We created this form to help performers report violations of the Self Tape Rules in the 2023 SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contract

  • When you submit this form it will send an email to SAG-AFTRA's Entertainment Contracts Department (EntContractsInfo@sagaftra.org) so they can pursue the violation on your behalf (unless you seek only to report violations for data purposes and remain anonymous).

  • The form will allow you to select which rule(s) have been violated by the self tape request you recieved. Most of these new protections - specifically those listed in Section 9.B - "Self Tapes and Virtual Interviews and Auditions" - are NOT immediately enforceable by SAG-AFTRA because they do not have any specified liquidated damages assigned to them. This means SAG-AFTRA will need to arbitrate damages with the AMPTP on a case-by-case basis over time in order to establish consequences for producers who violate these new rules.

It is important that you, as a member of performer community, report every violation you encounter to SAG-AFTRA for the following reasons:

1) These violations likely apply to any performer that is requested to submit a tape for any given role - resulting in potentially hundreds of individual violations. Per the SAG-AFTRA Contracts Department, if a critical mass of the group asked to submit reports the same violation, each individual will be safer from any potential retaliation than if only a single member of the group reported the violation. There is always strength and protection in numbers.

2) Reporting violations will enable the contracts team at SAG-AFTRA to arbitrate appropriate damages in real time, which will enable the Contracts Department to ensure appropriate relief for performers and dissuade productions for continuing to violate the rules by making the consequences for doing so clear.

3) Reporting violations results in important data such as: total number of violations, total number and names of productions in violation, and the total number of performers and self tape request affected. All of this data will empower to SAG-AFTRA negotiators to seek improvements to strengthen these protections during our next negotiation cycle.
